I admit it, I occasionally try to provoke a reaction.
It just drives me crazy how little ACTUAL pushback there is with the Zios in Australia.
Anyways - I managed to upset one of them. And I received this message yesterday morning.
And it did rattle me. These hyper aggressive messages do.
So I shared it with one of the groups I’m in, and immediately someone told me that I should just block and ignore.
But then I thought, why no create some good with this?
Turn their bullets into something useful…
So I shared the message on my social media platforms…and then asked for people to channel their frustration into a donation for my birthday fundraiser :)
And you know what’s so amazing??
Within only a few hours:
$262 was donated!!!!!!!
Incredible.
And I can’t explain just how much I love turning something toxic and destructive into something beautiful and PRACTICAL.
Which meant that this morning I could give this update:
(And just now I, while writing this update…another $500 has been donated!!!)
It’s just incredible to be the conduit between GENEROUS people who desperately want to help but don’t know how…to the families who are surviving HELL ON EARTH in the most unfathomable circumstances ever.
And speaking of which.
Please please please go and watch the film NAZA.
I know you can wait until it’s free.
But if you have the means, please watch it in the cinema (it shows the owners that there is a demand for pro-Palestine films). And it also lands deeper when you get the full experience of being immersed in a surround-sound auditorium.
But don’t just watch it for yourself, invite people in your world.
This is just an example.
But I do support work and part of that is going to a church every Sunday. What I’ve done is asked for an invite to be shared in their communal whatsapp group. And I’ve told them which cinema and at what time I have bought myself a ticket to watch NAZA. And I’ve encouraged them to do the same, and said that whoever wants to go for a coffee after and chat is welcome.
Easy.
I’m not having to book anyone’s tickets. It doesn’t matter how many come. It’s literally the most simple way to get more people to watch this film that so many still need to see because they have not been paying attention for the past three years (and of course decades before that).
Anyways…I have to go to my next shift. I hope this update doesn’t feel as rushed when you read it, as when I write it :)

Yes unfortunately in this country we have many ignorant, uneducated drop kicks. Who show themselves up by expressing their violent, nasty opinions. But we’re here because we admire what you do Veronica. Keep up your good work by exposing the horrific situations in the lives of many.
