Who is the real Goliath?
The 6 million dollar question
One of the biggest aha moments for me, when unravelling from my childhood brainwashing..
was when I finally understood who David & Goliath represented.
And just now, I watched a cringey AI video made by Zi0nists which once again uses the David & Goliath example as part of their narrative.
In the video, little David with his slingshot morphs into an IDF soldier.
So I want to take a moment to briefly shed some light on this topic.
I grew up being told that the Jews are little David. And the “Arabs” are the big bad giant Goliath.
Now, this narrative can be very convincing in the context of PALESTINIAN IDENTITY BEING COMPLETELY ERASED.
Yes, if it's about the number of Jews in Israel compared with the number of Arabs/Muslims in surrounding countries…then sure…Israel is David.
But that COMPLETELY distorts the truth of the situation.
Zionists have deliberately erased Palestinian identity/culture and instead lump them together with “Arabs”. As if it's just one group.
I was told that “Arabs” can have alllllll these places to live (Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria etc etc) but instead they insist on living on OUR land that God promised us all those years ago.
Of course as a child I fully believed that narrative. And why wouldn't I?
We were the “good little guys” and we had to do everything we could to topple the “evil giant”.
In the past few years I've not just had to unravel from Zi0nism. But I've also had to immerse myself in the Palestinian narrative. Really seeing them as their own people. Not just generic “Arabs” that can be transplanted into any neighbouring country.
Palestinians (as their own distinct people group) have lived on the land continually for century after century.
I'm going to write more about it in a different post, but the other day I met a man who is the 37th generation of priests from Gaza.
His bedroom was built in 500AD (!!!)
I have a good friend who has at least nine generations of family buried in a cemetery outside Nazareth.
In the context of Palestinians and Israelis…the Israelis are the dominant big bad evil aggressor.(Not to mention supremacists and colonisers as well!)
And the Palestinians are the much smaller and vulnerable David that has to outsmart Goliath.
But this only makes sense if you can see Palestinians as their own people which of course is exactly what we've been deliberately kept away from.
I'm really keen to know if this is something you've had to learn as well or if you grew up understanding that Palestinians are their own people group.
