Weaving a sustainable web
If you tilt your head...can you see a map of Pa|estine?
That's what my brain saw as I walked to catch up with a friend for coffee yesterday.
✨️It was especially striking because the web was woven in an olive tree ✨️
I couldn't walk past it without stopping to take a photo.
Which of course doesn't do justice to how beautiful it looked with the sun shining through it.
And as I kept walking I thought about all these strings that attach us to eachother. Woven together for our shared goal of a free and liberated (and safe!)
Pa|estine.
And how we're all coming at it with different approaches.
And different personalities.
And different life experiences.
Which means there's a lot of friction.
And there's such an art in being aware of that "annoyance". While at the same time not allowing it to stop us from doing our bit for the cause.
It might not feel like it, but we are more effective together. And we weave a stronger web when we focus on our common goal instead of pulling at eachother's threads.
We are all attempting something we have never done before.
Yes, there are definitely those who have been weaving for Pa|estine for a long time. And they have more experience than those of us who have started more recently. (I still identity as a "beginner" and I started weaving in 2014.)
But to be weaving for more than two and a half years during a gen0cide is new for all of us.
And it's not easy.
And showing eachother (and ourselves) kindness will make this craft more sustainable.
And it will hopefully bring in more weavers who can bring in new (and much needed) energy.

my very first read for the morning … beautifully written … the words resonate so deeply.
A beautifully written article Veronica. 🙏🏼
